This month, we’re delighted to welcome Sarah Henry Safeguarding to Office 9 in the Rear Walled Garden. Here, Sarah explains a little more about what she does.
I am the Company Director of Sarah Henry Safeguarding SHS. I have been self-employed for three years now and I am delighted to move into my new training venue at the Nostell Estate.
As a former LSCB Multi-Agency Trainer I have a proven track record in delivering high impact and quality safeguarding training to a variety of professionals in the Public and Third Sector.
Informed by research, evidence and my own practice I write all of my own training courses on a bespoke basis. I have extensive direct experience within the Safeguarding arena spanning well over two decades. Driven by a passion to keep children and adults safe, I have worked within various safeguarding professions as a frontline practitioner and manager. In 2016 I established and managed one of the Integrated Early Help Hubs for Children and Young People in Wakefield. This was in response to the Troubled Families Agenda and in collaboration with partners. It was a huge honour to serve as a public sector worker and I have taken all of my work experience into the business I now run, where I continue to be committed to safeguarding children and adults at risk.
Through my training I hope to enable other professionals to deepen their understanding of the impact of abuse and trauma for children, and highlight the need to always listen and respond to the voice of the child.
My company offers both safeguarding training and consultancy. I also provide workplace wellbeing sessions with a particular focus on looking after our caring professionals own mental health and wellbeing, in order to keep them safe and well in work and at home.
I am an accredited MHFA England First Aider in Youth and an Instructor for the 2 day MHFA Youth course. I am passionate about early intervention to support our children and young people to be healthy, well and cared for in respect of their mental health.
My clients are diverse and have included West Yorkshire Police, Yorkshire Ambulance Service, York Safeguarding Children Partnership, Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership, Barnardo’s and many of the schools within the local area.
I am always happy to talk so please get in touch if you have any questions or pop along to my website: www.sarahhenry.co.uk
