Published: 21.02.24 | by Peter Molyneux, Estate Director | 3 minute read

We caught up with our newest addition to the team, Blair Wallace, about his new role as Land Agent, and his upcoming duties at The Nostell Estate.

can you tell us a bit more about yourself and the land management partnership?

The Land Management Partnership offers property, land and estate services to residential, commercial and rural clients across Yorkshire and the North of England. We specialise in providing bespoke management services to a diverse range of rural clients in and around Yorkshire. With a strong agricultural background stemming from my family’s farming heritage in South West Scotland, I possess a practical understanding of the day-to-day and strategic operations of rural enterprises. Over the past seven years, I have gained extensive practical and technical knowledge to help me get the best results for my clients.

As a qualified Chartered Surveyor and Fellow of the CAAV, I have successfully advised a wide range of clients, including private individuals, large institutions and charities.

what kind of things will you be doing to support the nostell estate?

My role here is land agent, I will be supporting Peter, Lord and Lady St Oswald with the management of land and property on the Nostell Estate. This includes overseeing various aspects of the estate business including tenant liaison, strategic planning and property portfolio management. I am excited to get to know the Estate, and its people, and will be pleased to meet many tenants over the coming months.

is there anything you are particulalry looking forward to while working with the estate?

Lord and Lady St Oswald have an exciting vision for the Estate and it is a pleasure to be able to work with them in achieving these goals.

What are your first impressions of the nostell estate?

Forward-thinking, modern, well-located, and friendly.

will the tenants see you around the estate?

Yes, I will be on the Estate twice a month and I am always happy to meet with tenants individually.

do you have any interesting stories from your time working in the sector?

I was advising some long-standing clients on a new regenerative farming enterprise, which involved being tasked with purchasing some Longhorn cattle. It just so happened that ITV were filming a series on landed estates at that time, and I made my (very brief) television debut viewing cattle and chatting to breeders at the Great Yorkshire Show! It was a great experience!

what kind of things do you like doing outside work?

I enjoy exploring rural Yorkshire with my wife and two dogs and of course, I always enjoy going back home to the family farm in South West Scotland.
