The Nostell Estate Summer Party 2025

A Fantastic Evening at Nostell Estate

Last week, we brought together tenants, businesses, their teams, and special guests from across the Estate for our annual summer party.

Despite a run of unsettled weather in the week leading up to our event, the sun made a welcome appearance for the event, and everyone was able to enjoy an evening of great food, live music, and good company.

Preparing for the event!

Our team got going early, working hard to make sure things were ready for the fun evening ahead.

For the first time ever, we hired a rather stylish stretch tent to provide cover for the musicians on the patio, while tables, hay bales, and sheltered seating areas were arranged to create relaxed spaces for everyone to gather – not to mention fully stocking the bar! Balloons and extra touches around the event added to the sense of occasion, and by the time everything was ready, the Estate was looking its best.

The set-up was a real team effort, and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who played their part in bringing it all together. A special word of thanks goes to Gayle, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure every detail came together smoothly. Her flair for attention to detail makes every Estate occasion special.

Food & Drink

Guests were treated to a mouthwatering menu from The Spicy Biker, a local family-run business that provided fantastic Indian cuisine. Their curries were the talk of the evening, with both vegetarian and chicken options available, alongside a generous selection of starters — from crispy onion bhajis to perfectly spiced samosas, both meat and vegetarian.

The food went down an absolute storm. Many of our guests went back for seconds (some even thirds!), and judging by the clear plates all round, it’s fair to say that The Spicy Biker’s dishes were a huge hit.

At the bar, a great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks kept glasses filled throughout the evening. A particular highlight was the Barnsley Blonde, a special beer brought in from Jolly Boys Brewery. The 80 pints we had in stock were gone in no time (though there were plenty of other choices still available, of course!), proving just as popular as the food.

Music & Atmosphere

Music was central to the evening, and we were delighted to welcome two fantastic local acts to the Estate, Skinny Living and Hollie Wild. Both musicians are well-known and much-loved in the area, and their performances added real energy to the evening.

Skinny Living’s and Hollie Wild’s vibrant songs gave guests plenty to enjoy, with the music providing a perfect backdrop to conversations, laughter, and the relaxed atmosphere. It’s fair to say that people loved having them perform here, and it was clear how much their presence added to the occasion.

Words from Lord St. Oswald

A notable moment of the evening came when Lord St. Oswald took to the stage to welcome everyone. He began by thanking the guests for attending, before reflecting on the positive spirit and continued successes of the businesses based here at Nostell Estate, despite the current financial challenges the UK is seeing. Also noted was the encouragement of seeing our tenants thrive and, in some cases, move into larger spaces with us as they continue to grow.

He also thanked Skinny Living, Hollie Wild, and The Spicy Biker for their wonderful contributions to the evening, mentioning how much he was looking forward to trying the food himself. A heartfelt thank you was then given to the team for all their hard work, with a special mention for Gayle, before he closed by wishing everyone a great evening ahead.

A Successful Evening

Guests used the evening as an opportunity to relax, chat, and catch up with connections, new and old. What’s more, with around 250 people in attendance, the 2025 summer event will go down as one of the best attended, so far, with a fantastic atmosphere.

Many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the food, music, and company, and there was a real sense of community throughout the night. People lingered right until the very end, not wanting the evening to finish, and it was clear from the feedback we received that the event had been a resounding success.

Thank You

Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who joined us. It was a pleasure to see so many of you enjoying yourselves and to hear the positive comments. We’re delighted the evening brought people together in such a relaxed and friendly way, and we look forward to hosting more events like this in the future.
