An Interview with Castle Communication Services

We caught up with Rachel Hardcastle, director at Castle Communication Services to learn more about their employment services for the deaf community…

TELL US MORE ABOUT CASTLE COMMUNICATION SERVICES

Castle Communication Services provides specialist services to help support people who are deaf or hard of hearing to find and stay in employment. We support our clients every step of the way, covering CV creation, job seeking, and application form completion. We also provide specialised BSL interpreters for interviews, assessments and additional communication assistance. We aim to make our clients feel more confident and comfortable in the workplace. These services are just a snapshot of what we do; the work doesn’t stop there! Whenever our clients need support, we’re on hand to help any time of day.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE NOSTELL AS YOUR BASE?

I’ve always loved The Nostell Estate, visiting many times with my family and, of course, my adorable cocker spaniel, Jasmine. After growing my business, the time was right to find a more appropriate office space. Sarah on my team suggested the estate, and I jumped at the chance to move into the Harrison Suite following its recent refurbishment. Office 1 has an office area with a lovely outlook onto the Estate Yard and a separate room ideal for hosting training sessions. It’s a beautiful, bright space perfect for hosting remote calls, too.

CAN CLIENTS VISIT YOU ON THE ESTATE?

Yes, definitely! I can now provide clients with a warm, welcoming office. So, they are more than welcome to join me, Sarah and Colleen for a pre-booked meeting or just pop in for a chat to update them on their employment progress.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR CASTLE COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES?

Other services we provide are British Sign Language and Deaf Awareness training and interpretation services. I hope to continue building a positive connection with local and non-local organisations in the UK, helping to encourage more businesses to develop a positive outlook towards employing deaf employees within their companies and ultimately advocating for more encouragement, support and inclusivity within the modern workplace.
